Guided Reading (GR)

 Guided Reading (GR) is an instructional approach/strategy used in the classroom to provide students with reading instruction at their instructional level and in a small group. The success of Guided Reading is based on data. Our team trains teachers to incorporate GR in their reading instruction for success using center based activities. We take you through these simple step.  

  1. Test administration for instructional level
  2. Strategic Grouping
  3. Progress monitoring
  4. Teaching and instilling in students Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOT) through probing and questioning.

 We offer professional book studies on books like "Read, Write, Lead" by Regie Routman; "Turning High Poverty Schools into High-Performing School" by Parrett & Budge; "Teaching with Poverty in Mind" & "Engaging Students with Poverty in Mind" by Eric Jensen and more.
